Google has unveiled its Stadia game streaming service at the GDC 2019. The service will revolutionize the gaming industry upon its release changing the perception of people regarding the video games. Traditional video games involve a powerful hardware system dedicated to video games, and the unveiling of Google Stadia is changing that perception. Stadia enables its users to play video games on the low-end systems as well as portable devices. During the presentation of Stadia, a game was streamed on different devices and the only thing required was an internet connection. The service will be launching this year in the US, UK, Europe, and Canada.
Google plans for exclusives
Google also invited some of the people that they hired for making exclusives to show the support of developers. The project was tested under the name project stream, and during that stream, only Assassin Creed odyssey was available for streaming. The former executive of Sony and Microsoft Phil Harris also took the stage to show his support for the Stadia game streaming service. Google also announced the Stadia Games and Entertainment which is aimed to provide exclusives for the platform. The studio is led by former Ubisoft and Electronic Arts (EA) executive Jade Raymond. The introduction of game studio and service suggests that Google means business.
The specifications of Stadia are not limited to streaming. Stadia will be offering a 4k resolution at 60 frames per second making the experience of gaming all the more astonishing. Google has also promised at 8k resolution at 120 frames per second in the future. The resolution offered by the platform alone is enough of the reason to embrace Stadia as the new gaming platform. However, the graphics will depend upon your internet speed after all it is streaming service. Google has also promised cross-platform play for their service. YouTube integration of Stadia was also demonstrated which enable users to access the game from the video on a YouTube directly. Now gamers won’t have to worry about downloading the game because they can play them straight through streaming.
The specification of Stadia hardware and controllers
Google has also introduced its controller that will maximize the experience of playing video games on different devices. The controller directly connects with the game server through Wi-Fi to minimize the response time. There are two extra button buttons on the Stadia controller, and these buttons are its distinctive feature. One button is used for sharing while another button could be used to get help from Google assistant anywhere in the game. Google is partnering with AMD for the Hardware support of the games, and the GPU of the system will deliver 10.7 Teraflops of power making it more powerful than any console. The initial game that is going to available on the platform is Doom Eternal after that other games will be brought to console. Each of the systems will have 16GB RAM with 2.7Ghz x86 CPU. The system will also support, and it can be considered the future of the video game industry.
