Easter is the most imporant feast day on the Christian calendar
Regularly observed from the earliest days of the Church, Easter celebrates Christ’s resurrection from the dead, following cruxifixion. It marks the end of the Holy Week, the end of the Lent, and the last day of the Easter Triduum (starting from thr evening of the Maundy Thursday, through Good friday, Holy Saturday, and Easter Sunday), as well as the beginning of the Easter season of liturgical year.
The resurrection represents the truimph of good over evil, sin, death and the physical body.
Easter, also called Pascha (Greek, Latin)or Resurrection on Sunday is the festival and holiday commemorating the resurrection of jesus from the dead, described in the New Testamentas having occured on the third day after his burial following his crucifixion by the Romans Calvary. It is culminating of the passion of Jesus, peceded by lent. A 40-day period of fasting, prayer and penance.
Easter is a “movable feast” and does not have a fixed date; however, it is always held on a Sunday between March 22 and april 25.
According to the Bible,Christ was crucified on the day of Good Friday and buried in a grave was found to be empty with the stone rolled away. “He is Risen” is the popular proclamation on this day.
Easter, a Christian festival, will be celebrated on April 21, Sunday, this year. It is believed that Jesus Christ resurrectedfrom the dead on the third day afer his burialat the Calvary and the day of his resurrection is celebrated as Easter.
Christ’s resurrection forms of basis of Christian faith as it demonstrates Jesus to be Son of God, and symbolizes his conquest of death. It is special for Christians everywhere around the world as on this day, the “Messiah” Christ rose from the dead after he was crucified, and it is widely believed that when Jesus Christ’s deciples visited his grave on the day following Good friday.
This joyfull proclamation stands till today and his resurrection is celebrated as the triumph of the Lord and his Son. It is widely considered to be God’s plan to save the people from sins and wrong doings. It’s also gives hope for tomorrow, as after the winter comes spring. Our hearts can be filled with gladness as hearts rejoice and sing.
During the celebration of Easter 2019, people with their family go to Churches, decorate Easter aggs, exchange gifts and spending quality time with thier dear ones. Painting Easter eggsand organising Easter egg hunts is also a part of costums. It’s believed that eggs represented fertility and birth in certain pagan traditionsthat pre-date Christianity. Egg decorating may have become part of the Easter celebration in a nod to religious significant of Easter, Jesus resurrection or re-birth.
