What To Do After an Accident
Personal injury lawyers are reminding the public to always be alert and to know the essential steps they should take if they get in an accident.
Notifying the Police
Victims should immediately inform the police if they are in an accident. As much as possible, victims should have the contact number of police for any incidents such as motor vehicle accidents so the police can respond accordingly.
Never Drive Away
If you happen to be the one at fault in an accident, never run away. Stop and inspect the scene of the accident. If you happen to injure the other party, make sure to cooperate and provide your personal information, insurance provider, and other pertinent information.
Get Help from Witnesses
As much as possible, you should look for potential witnesses to help you get as much information about the accident. Just as the case above, witness accounts are vital for identifying the guilty party in a traffic accident.
Seek Medical Help
If you have injuries, get medical help immediately. Make sure that you do not have any severe injuries that can prove to be fatal. Make sure to get a copy of all the medical records.
Notify Insurance Provider
If you have an insurance provider, do inform them as well. Some insurance providers will invalidate a claim if they don’t immediately receive a report of the incident.
Pennsylvania traffic accidents were relatively low in the past years. In 2018, the state recorded the third lowest number of traffic deaths. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the number of traffic accidents deaths was lowest last year, and the authorities are hoping to lower the number further.
Again, those who have information about the owner of the green Jeep Wrangler, please provide details to the Fairfield Police Department immediately.
